The Story Time was going very slow, slower than it normally did at the towers school for monsters. The monsters were doing their morning lesson: 'learn to pull scary faces' but were beginning to get bored. Their teacher Mr Frank en stein stood at the front of the class shouting orders like "show more teeth", "now relax" and “scary eyes". The school bell rang, it was time for break, but before the monsters could go for break they had to do a special dance to the bell; the monster mash! "Very good Moshy", said Mr Frank en stein "excellent Egor and brilliant mashing Fay the Fang". As the music stopped the monsters all lined up to go out for break time. In the playground the monsters played scare chase and other monster games while in the staffroom the teachers sat around eating slime and drinking mud water. As the monsters settled down into their next class the teacher Miss Heti the Yeti told them that there was an important announcement they would be joined this afternoon by a new student! All the monsters were very excited by this "settle down monsters, settle down" said Miss Heti the Yeti. After doing their monster spellings "S is for scary, T is for terrify, U is for........ok class let's leave it there for now, pack up your things and let's get ready for school bell, now remember best behaviour this afternoon we want to show our new pupil just how scary we are." When the new pupil walked through the door the students had never seen anything so ghastly. They cowered under their tables as she stepped closer to them. She looked sweet, and lovely and pleasant! Oh how terrifying! "I'm Lydia" she said.
